This ones for you, Freshmen! So pay attention.

Now I know this is an exciting time for all of you, you know where you’re going to be living next year; you know your classes, your roommates and all sorts of other fun stuff. Well if your class is anything like mine, all of this information is shared through facebook.

Facebook is a great way to meet and get to know the people you’re going to be surrounded with, or check out some hotties right? WRONG! Now I know you’re all searching facebook to see who is in your stats class, who is on your floor, who else likes spiderman and “partying”, with the hope of starting a great friendship.

In case you all haven’t already noticed, that is incredibly awkward. It gets even more awkward when you bump into these people in person for the first time on move in day.

“Oh hey! You’re the guy who um.. likes spiderman, right?”

“Yeah. You like spiderman too, right?”

“Yeah I sure do. Have you met anyone else yet?”

So keep to yourself on facebook, if someone reaches out to you, theres no need to be cold and unwelcoming, but don’t expect to make fast friends.

Unless it’s a hottie who likes spiderman and partying.
