With news of a Penn building being named after famous gossip columnist Claudia Cohen, one is left to wonder what if other gossip columnists had buildings named after them at their alma maters? Cohen might have been the heir to a local NJ newspaper mogul and the late wife of a billionaire but NYU alum, Perez Hilton has got pizzazz!
Hilton, graduated from NYU with a BA in drama and it's obvious that he's put that degree to good use. After a few unsuccessful attempts at acting and becoming a contestant on MTV's Celebrity Rap Superstar, Hilton decided performing was not for him and took to celebrity blogging. Hilton has made his blog a go-to place for all those obsessed with celebrities and pop culture and for this reason, NYU should honor him with a building.
Instead of paint, the building will be covered with colored Christmas lights to coordinate with Hilton's latest hair color and instead of a doorway at the front - it would be a trap shoot for all incoming students to fall as they come into the realm of Perez, much like the fallen stars he covers. What sort of classes would be held at this institution you may ask? Well for one, sticking to already existing majors is out of the question. The Perez Hilton School Of Celebrity Gossip will have majors like Paparazzi Photography, Funny Photoshopping and of course, Celebrity Blogging. This institution will be a great one to be forever loved and remembered among NYU students.
