Oops, Sorry About The Slavery & Segregation!

Oops, Sorry About The Slavery & Segregation!

Many college students cannot understand the horrors of a segregated classroom because thankfully none of us were alive to bear witness to the atrocities of what the world used to be. Slowly but surely the US eradicated forms of racism and unequal treatment but US officials also do a fantastic job of making themselves look like tree stomps and this one definitely tops the list.

The House of Representatives is in the middle of passing a resolution apologizing to African Americans about the Jim Crow laws. Slavery was abolished over a hundred years ago and segregation was brought to a halt about forty years and the US wants to apologize now? Are you serious?

The US should have rethought hosing down innocent people who wanted to sit at restaurant tables and not have to give up their seat on a bus after a long day's work. But an apology only serves as written proof the US tried to rectify their mistakes 40 years later.

To this day there are still heinous hate crimes being committed on a daily basis like the Jena Six, who are still awaiting their trials. So not only does this resolution serve as US hypocrisy but it's also a waste of taxpaying dollars that could be used to actually resolve something. Go figure, a resolution that resolves.

The US government has apologized to the Native Americans. Anonymous, do you see how long it's taking them to recover from what was done to them? African Americans suffered for generations here in America. This country was built off of "cheap" African American labor. What did we get for it? The projects. I think you need to wake up. Anonymous, Wake up! And do your research before spilling ignorant garbage all over. Facts: guns were used to capture slaves and at the time, Africans owned no guns... Yes American Indians deserve an apology too! Speaking of Hitler, your people are not in any better position to point fingers. Posted 07/30/2008 02:32 AMReply

So i guess the next thing we will do is apologize to the Mexicans
Slavery is over now, I didn't own a slave, neither did my parents. I don't know anyone who was a slave and the only guy i ever knew, his dad owned a slave, is dead now because he was that old.
this just gives the "Entitlement" groups the reason to ask for more free, free, free

To the Jena 6 scam artist. The nooses hung in Jena were hung against the rodeo team after they saw it on Lonsum Dove they were not hung against blacks. they were not a hate crime. You only show you know nothing about it by repeating the lie. Posted 07/30/2008 1:28 PMReply

Property? Those were PEOPLE anonymous. Wake up and get a clue. I don't care how much you paid for my great-great-grandmother, no way in hell is anyone going to reimburse you nor your great-grandparents for being so morally bankrupt as to engage in the trafficking of human chattel.
