Once again the New York Times tells us something that we already know, Facebook is rapidly replacing the printed alumni magazine of many colleges.

I don't know about you but I check my classmates status updates and recent photos like its my J-O-B. Countless hours are spent staring blankly at my computer screen so I might as well get some good Facebook stalking in.

Facebook provides what an alumni magazine never will be able to: instant updates. Even if the Williams Alumni Review did have instant updates I doubt any of the information that I would be interested would be printed.

All I really want to know who got uglier, who has finally come out of the closet and who is dating,married, or "it's complicated". And I'll want know who isn't able to let their college years go and updates Facebook on a regular basis. These are the things that matter, people.
