I’ve never seen a spectacle quite like the Mermaid Day Parade in Coney Island. It was certainly an equal opportunity parade: women went without shirts, and looking at someone in a dress didn’t mean you were looking at a female. Though the website promised a family friendly parade, the parents in the crowd were less than excited to see people wearing nothing but body paint and thongs. The man next to me also felt less than excited, lamenting that he had seen at least 50 pairs of tits but nothing he had really wanted to see. I, on the other hand, got my fill of cute mermen.
