A 3-foot tall penguin by the name of Nils Olav was knighted yesterday on behalf of Norway's King Harald V at Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland.

Hundreds of people attended the ceremony which was complete with speeches and fanfare. Penguin Olav arrived with the escort of the King's Guard Color Detachment.

Olav has been the mascot for the Norwegian King's Guard since 1972.
