Mike Bianchi isn’t making any fans at University of Florida by picking on their… well, fans. The Orlando Sentinel sports columnist basically calls out the Gators as the worst fans in Florida.
It’s all about perfectionism, he claims. Thanks to some stellar seasons, UF fans now feel entitled not only to wins, but spectacular, awe-inspiring and movie-worthy wins. This fussiness has led them to frustration and whining when things don’t go their way. And Bianchi’s not just talking about losses. After what he calls “Saturday’s embarrassing, humiliating 31-point, um, victory over Arkansas,” the talk around Gainesville was “What’s wrong with the Tim Tebow and the Gators?”
Bianchi’s fed up with the attitude:
I'll tell you what's wrong with Tebow and the Gators: You're what's wrong. Florida fans who actually think it's their birthright not only to win but to win by 50.
Oh snap. Bianchi brought out the bitchiness.
So is he right? Have Gators becomes the spoiled snots of Florida? Or is the sports columnist just a secret ‘Nole fan? He better watch his back: even the saintly Tim Tebow won’t be able to protect him from becoming Gator bait.
