ASG Loves Pediatric Cancer

ASG Loves Pediatric Cancer
Not really. But ASG recently denied giving A&O and DM more funding for their joint OK Go and Ben Kweller concert this Wednesday.

The student groups wanted some more cash flow from ASG so that they could donate 50% of their profits to Bear Necessities, this year's DM charity of choice, as opposed to the 25% they are currently donating. ASG denied the request, citing the possibility of setting a bad precedent on student funding for the future.

The Daily has the Financial VP of ASG quoted as saying, "Please do not vote on cause....SAF is paid for by students to fund student programming on campus, it is not for philanthropy." That is all kinds of true, but really: would anyone actively say no to donating a little of their Student Activities Fee to help families affected by pediatric cancer?
