Obama's political frienemy, Rev. Wright, was supposed to get an honorary degree from NU this June. But after his controversial statements regarding race, NU has peace'd out on that idea.

An statement issued by Vice President of University Relations, Alan Cubbage read:
"In light of the controversy around Dr. Wright and to ensure that the celebratory character of Commencement not be affected, the University has withdrawn its invitation to Dr. Wright."
