I Guess Almost Hate Crimed is Better than Hate Crimed
Last weekend, a group of students returning from a party had a rude awakening.

Circa 4:30 am, they passed a group of men on the other side of the road. One of the men broke off from his friends and started following the students through the parking lot of the Englehart building near Maple and Emerson. As the man approached, one of the students turned around to see the guy right up in his face.

His only question: "Are you all gay?" After assuring him that the students were not in fact gay, he stayed in their faces and went on a rant about how much he hated insert-a-derogatory-term-here.

Finally, his friends came and retrieved him and he finally left the group of students alone. No one was hurt, 9-1-1 was already dialed into the phone just in case, and everyone was left a little shaken up.

Just goes to show: even if you're not walking alone at night, you can still get harrassed in Evanston.
