NU Commencement Speaker: Most Horrible Rumor Ever

Hooray graduation?

For literally months, we at Northwestern have watched as other colleges have announced their graduation speakers, hoping against hope that we'd get Colbert.

Harvard gets J.K. Rowling. We'd take it, but no big deal. Harvey Mudd snags Bill Nye the Science Guy. Twinge of jealousy, but there's still Colbert, right? Wrong. According to recent rumors - Northwestern commencement '08 is going down with... Chicago's Mayor Richard M. Daley?

Seriously? ****ing Mayor Daley? Let's hope this is just a rumor, and not another notch in a series of disappointing things to happen in these last four years of college. I'm sure Daley's done nice things, but come on. You're telling me even Zach Braff was busy?

@ Anonymous: That's the fun thing about rumors - they don't have to be facts. That this exists as a rumor is out of my control, I personally hadn't heard any rumors of Oprah.
