After several days of investigative reporting, we have a confirmation of the mastermind behind the much-talked-about RumorRoyalty.com. Actually, a tipster did all the work for us:

“To DJ PM-- I know, 100%, without a doubt in my mind, who M. is, mysterious writer of Rumor Royalty. I didn't want to post it in the comments because I don't want to deal with the slew of responses, but I can tell you who it is if you'd like.”

What a tease! According to the tipster… are you guys ready?

“M and RR are both [bleep]. I spent a lot of time as a Beta groupie freshman and sophomore years (a sad time in my life, let's not discuss) and I can tell you the only person capable of writing this ridiculous and totally addictive blog, then making himself a character in it to dispel rumors, then actually contacting you to further dispel it, is [bleep]. In addition, I don't know if you are FB friends with him, but there are a few wall posts that contain variations of the phrase ‘you wish you could hate me.’”

RR and M, the same person?! Out of control! Because of our new, self-imposed “no names” policy, we’re not going to identify who our favorite gossip boy/RR/M is.

“I haven't seen [bleep] since I found RR, but his friends definitely know. Also some of it is made up...”

So that's it: a fictitious gossip blog acting as a harmless inside joke, apparently. Not so controversial if you think about it. But still... sometimes a joke amongst friends is best kept secret.
