Sell Spaghetti to Your New Neighbors to Afford your New Neighborhood

Sell Spaghetti to Your New Neighbors to Afford your New Neighborhood
Life Imitates Art.

Even the title of this article, from today's Alligator, has a bizarre ring to it.  "Students cook pasta for neighborhood to help pay rent." What? Is it a Pasta Party? No, wait,  it's like, selling food to people.  Like the Hare Krishnas? What?

Well, this guy, Joe Vigliotti and his "homegirl" (girlfirend?) Clara Cash decided to attend SFCC so they moved in together in G'ville.  Like a fairytale. (Or maybe a Bon Jovi Song?)

Unfortunately, they are now $500 short on their first month's rent.   I guess that means they only have $34!  [Whooaaaa we're halfway theeerrre. Whooooa! Livin' on a prayer!]

Apparently, Mrs. Cash--that's Joe's girlfriend's mom-- decided that throwing a pasta party and charging neighbors for plates of food would be the best plan for their financial troubles.  [Take my hand and we'll make it--I swear! Livin' on a prayer!]

Awkward?  Even Joe says he's never heard of anyone doing it.

Maybe he just got sucked into it, but he's doing it anyway, apparently he's whipped, even by his girlfriend's mother.  So this bizarre Spaghetti Sale/ Fundraiser/ Pasta Party will take place.  And oh yeah, there's also a yard sale. And garlic bread.

Now, I think the most reasonable thing to do in this situation is to go to the "fundraiser" on Sunday and eat a plate  or two for Gina and Tommy.  After all, "Gina works the diner all day.  Working for her man, she brings home her pay for love--for love."

So eat pasta for love!

Spaghetti Party @ College Manor Apartment #121! SW 1st Avenue, near 13th St.  Sunday starting @ noon.
