Okay, it’s time for an I’m-not-going-to-rip-someone-to-shreds post. Don’t expect these too frequently. Like, once an eon. Maybe.

Dan Yadron, who will be a sophomore in the fall, plays in a band called the Butterfly Assassins. Okay, go ahead and gag yourself with the name. But name aside, this band is not your usual fare of atrocious college band. They’ve signed with a label (Old Flame Records).

And, while listening to their music on MySpace, I didn’t try to hang myself with the speaker wires. Which is the complete opposite of the usual reaction I have. I actually liked them. Well-produced songs and solid instrumentals.

As a side note, Dan is a freak. He tours with his band, writes for the Daily (which we won’t hold against him here) and doesn’t fail every class he takes like I would. He must be on coke. No. Really. Call the DEA.
