The Facebook Rulebook Part Deux

The Facebook Rulebook Part Deux
An addendum that begins with a question:

Are you married? No? Then get that the **** off Facebook.

Unless you're actually married, you're no longer allowed to put "married" as your relationship status. If you are married, good for you. Although there's a pretty good chance you won't be for much longer. Sorry.

Back to the original point, though. Being "married" when you're not in reality is annoying the rest of us. Especially if, under interests, you put the following:

Searching professional sports teams for future rich husband candidates

The marriages also confuse news feed, too. It's very diatribe-inducing to happen upon what one thinks is scandalous relationship status change only to find that it's a joke that got old.

C'mon people. Facebook rules are common sense. Your profiles are there to let people know more about you, not make them think you're a waste of oxygen.

Pop quiz. Which is more annoying: When girls fbook marry one another or their gay best friends as an annoying and transparent joke, or when scary-serious couples list themselves as married even though they technically aren't? Obviously there are arguments to be made for best sides, but I do prefer the schadenfreude-istic glee when the latter couples then get facebook-divorced. Posted 08/14/2007 6:58 PMReply

The question should be: why take facebook seriously? Posted 08/15/2007 06:06 AMReply

Couples that do it are much more annoying. Then, us news-feed lurkers are really confused.

As to the second point, if I didn't take it seriously, then you wouldn't have these awesome posts to read.
