The Semester's End is in Sight

The Semester's End is in Sight
It is that awkward time of the school semester...

Those last few weeks cushioned between two holiday breaks.

Thanksgiving vacation was merely a warm-up stretching routine to the marathon which is the upcoming winter break.

But before this happens, students must first pass their final exams. That nasty gatekeeper has many students stressing out, especially in contrast with the relaxing Thanksgiving vacation which was just left behind and to the winter break which is anxiously looked forward to.

This past break not only resulted in heavier students (from Thanksgiving gorging) and lighter wallets (from Black Friday shopping), but also a new attitude. People are ready for the semester to die out and it is showing more then ever.

It is evident in the way professors teach, desperately cramming material into their lectures in realization of the tightenening noose around fall semester's neck.

It can be seen in the even heavier-then-normal glaze over students' eyes in the classroom.

It is witnessed in the scarce amount of blog posts on this site.

It is in the air, in the way people walk. A big bang and then Gainesville is about to become a lot quieter.

Through the anxiety and stress, there is hope though. A resolution to just get through these few weeks and then do better next semester.

Here is to surviving these last desperate weeks and to a clean slate after the break.
