I know that going to college can be scary because all of a sudden your close-knit, we-have-been-friends-forever group is gone. All of sudden you have no one. So why not jump the gun and make cyber friends over the summer? Right? Wrong! Note to USC ’11: It is stupid to friend people you have never met and most likely never will. The other day I received a friend request from Sid Patel from India and that was followed by one from Anthony Platt. Do they think we are going to get coffee together sometime when we get to school? Or maybe we have one of the same bands listed under ‘Favorite Music’ and therefore we should be friends? I don’t know. My advice to all incoming freshmen is to save you from looking desperate and think twice before adding STRANGER as a friend.
