Last Second Game Winning Shot. It's everyone's dream. Usually there's a little more build up as the star payer gets the ball, dribbles it one way or another, rises and hits the J. Here, it's all a prayer and a hope.
Tied with 2.2 seconds to play, Cedric Jackson took the in-bounds pass and heaved a perfect, nothing-but-net two-handed shot from 60 feet. His coach, Gary Waters, had never seen such a thing. "I have never been a part of one of those types of shots, I had my head down. I told my coaches we were headed for overtime."
Undefeated Syracuse was ranked 11th in the nation. Cleveland State was 6-4. Still, the two battled it out in a close one till the last second. Tied at halftime. Tied with 2.2 seconds to go. Over when the buzzer sounded.
