Conservative Professors at Cal: I Kid You Not, They Exist
Being a conservative at UC Berkeley is like being a witch in Salem. And writing about conservatives at Cal is fun, just like how those crazy Puritans got a kick out of throwing people in lakes to see if they floated.

Saying things like "school vouchers help upper class white kids overcome their harsh environments" or "that one gay dude kinda creeps me out" will land you in Berkeley's version of Gitmo (being surrounded by especially talkative liberals). However, there are safe places to utter such controversies, such as this facebook group and in the classrooms of these professors.

Berkeley's Right-Leaning Professors
John C. Yoo, Professor at Berkeley Law. Perhaps the most famous of our conservative faculty. Contributed to the PATRIOT Act and the torture memos (begin "The Imperial March/Darth Vader's Theme"). Dare you to go to his office hours and discuss human rights.

John H. McWhorter, Professor of Linguistics. Senior fellow of the Manhattan Institute conservative think tank. Also hates rap music.

A. James Gregor, Professor of Political Science. Gregor is your old fashioned kind of right-wing: the kind that still opposes Brown v. Board of Education, enjoys pointing out the positive values of fascism, and from time to time, offends women and minorities. Agree with him or not, at least he's entertaining.

Gordon Rausser, Professor of Economics. Served as an advisor on the Reagan administration. Though word on the streets is if you get him as your thesis advisor, you pretty much get an automatic A.

Phillip E. Johnson, retired Professor at Berkeley Law. One of few academic advocates of intelligent design. Also authored the "Santorum Amendment," which proposed intelligent design be taught in public schools as a federal law.

And that's about all I really know of. If you can think of some, let us know.
