Crazy Person with a Gun Arrested at UF

Is it just me or has campus become a little less safe? Earlier this week, a girl was attacked by Century Tower. Luckily, she was able to kick her attacker in the nuts and get away. Then, there were reports of a bomb threat at Shands that had the hospital shut down for 30 minutes.

And now, we have a gun-toting creeper roaming Library West. The police received a tip on Wednesday morning that a suspicious man had entered the library, put a backpack on the ground and left.

The person who called the cops described the suspect as wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers hat and shirt and that is the description the police used to find the man. The police searched him and found a .22 derringer-style gun on him.

When he was taken in, they found that he was not a UF student but a convicted felon from Illinois. He was charged with possession of a firearm on school property, possession of a weapon by a felon and giving false identification to officers.

There was no word on what was in the backpack that he left on the floor. Isn't anyone else curious about this?

Clearly the lesson here is, report suspicious behavior and never trust Steelers fans.
