Dean Sternberg Shares His Astonishing Conclusion That Hate Speech Can Hurt
Dean Sternberg's Viewpoint in yesterday's Daily managed to discuss the causes and effects of hate speech for an astonishing near-1400 words without ever mentioning The Primary Source or the Christmas carol incident. Quite impressive, considering that's obviously why he chose to write the piece.

He mentions that hate speech can cause violence and pain (wow, all those years of psych grad school must have paid off!) and lists a few reasons for it, among them being that the members of The Primary Source instigators of hate speech have low self-esteem, warped world perspectives, and no meaning in their lives.

The best part? The comparison between Nazis and the Source: "Expert propagandists such as Joseph Goebbels, head of Nazi propaganda campaigns, and the not-so-expert ones we may confront in the environments in which we live not only express their feelings of loathing through speech, but also incite hate through that speech" (emphasis added). Ouch!
