High School Musical 2 Takes Campus by Storm

High School Musical 2 Takes Campus by Storm
And this time, teen heartthrob Zac Efron is actually singing his high notes! (Producers cross their hearts and hope to die.) Now if he'll only stop wearing so much makeup...

Harvard's lads and ladies have found themselves swept up in the charm of The Disney Channel original sequel, by all accounts one of the corniest, most insipid movies of all time. Campus list-servs have been abuzz with hype from the film, and many die-hard fans even hosted premiere parties in their summer housing the night it debuted. Hard to believe? Check your friends' away messages--you're bound to find lyrics from the entirely too upbeat soundtrack.

It's just so easy to love!!! Nationally, High School Musical 2 was:

-the most-watched basic cable television program of all time.
-the most-watched basic cable movie of all time.
-the highest-rated television program ever for children age 6 to 11.
-the most-viewed Friday television telecast, cable or broadcast, in the past five years.

Disney already has plans for a third movie (set in a haunted house?) which will open in theaters next year.
