Reporting live from  the Middle of Muir: It's snowing ash all across San Diego. At about 2:20 p.m., a burning smell and a yellowy haze settled on campus.

We figured that the the Malibu fire was just a tad far for its ash to make a guest appearance all the way here and we were right: apparently there are about four big fires all around San Diego, the biggest of which was already bigger than 100 acres by 1:40 p.m.

Guess I spoke too soon about something going up in flames...
