It is about time we, as an OSU community, decide on the final rules for drinking games. Anyone else annoyed with going to a house party, sitting down to play a game, and spending fifteen minutes figuring out the rules to go by? This week we chronicle "Flip Cup", a fast-paced cup game designed to get you drunk and get you drunk fast. If you'd like to add rules or suggestions, feel free to comment.
Name: Flip Cup
Alternate Names: Flipper, Turbo Cups
Required Equipment: Table, 1 Cup per person, Beer
Number of People: Unlimited
Setup: Simply fill each cup with a predetermined amount of beer and set them up in a line with one team on one side of the table and the other team on the opposite side.
Play: Grab one of the empty beer cans and hold it in the air. Have the two beginning drinkers touch hands until the beer drops and begin. You must drink the full contents of the beer before trying to flip. When flipping, you cannot interfere with your hand. Once the cup has been flipped so the top is facing down and steady, the next person may go.
Game Over When: A team has finished all their beer and their cups are all flipped. Then you can replay as often as you want. Generally a score is kept, such as best of 7.
Special Rules: One special variation is "Survivor Flip Cup". In this version, the losing team must vote out one player. Their cup is taken over by someone on their team. Play goes on until one team has no players left.
