Official OSU Rules: Land Mines

Official OSU Rules: Land Mines

It is about time we, as an OSU community, decide on the final rules for drinking games. Anyone else annoyed with going to a house party, sitting down to play a game, and spending fifteen minutes figuring out the rules to go by? This week we chronicle "Landmines", a game of strategy and alcoholism. If you'd like to add rules or suggestions, feel free to comment.

Name: Land Mines

Alternate Names: Quarter Mines

Required Equipment: Table, Drinking Cup, Cans or Bottles of Beer, Quarters

Number of People: Any number, but more than 4 is best.

Setup: Decide who goes first and grab a case of beer.

Play: The person with the drinking cup fills it up to their preference and then spins the quarter. The person must drink all the beer, set the cup down and then pick up the quarter with the same hand. If he cannot do this before the quarter falls over, he must go again. Anyone with a finished beer can land mine the quarter and the person drinking must go again. You can drink your beer when it is not your turn. You can also build up an arsenal if you want to. A good idea is to not spin it in front of you, to ward off potential land miners.

Game Over When: Table is too full. Knock all the cans out and repeat.

Special/Optional Rules: If you miss on a land mine attempt, the person that missed must take a turn.
