It is about time we, as an OSU community, decide on the final rules for drinking games. Anyone else annoyed with going to a house party, sitting down to play a game, and spending fifteen minutes figuring out the rules to go by? This week we chronicle "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", a card game designed to get you drunk. If you'd like to add rules or suggestions, feel free to comment.
Name: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Alternate Names: Up and Down the River
Required Equipment: Table, People, Beer, Deck of 52 cards
Number of People: Any number, but it is better with about 5-6 people
Setup: The dealer shuffles the cards and play begins counterclockwise.
Play: Play starts by the dealer asking every person, "Red or Black" (meaning hearts/diamonds or spades/clubs). The player guesses and if he is right, he deals out the number of drinks corresponding to the card (i.e. Ace is 14). They can split it up or give all at once. The player then keeps the cards in front of them. The next question is "High or Low" (meaning higher or lower than the card in front of them). Dealing drinks is the same as before. The third question is "Outside or In Between" (meaning between the two cards or outside of them). If it matches one of the cards (not outside or in between), that person must drink that number times two. The fourth question is "What suit" (meaning spades, hearts, diamonds or clubs).
Once those are complete the remaining cards are dealt in two rows of even numbers. The last two in each row are turned sideways. One by one, cards are flipped over in each row. If your card is in the first row (The Good), you deal out that many drinks. If your card is in the second row (The Bad), you drink that many. The final sideways cards (The Ugly) are flipped at the end. If you have one on the first row of The Ugly, you give out a whole beer. If you have one in the second row, you must finish your beer.
Game Over When: All cards are flipped.
Special/Optional Rules: If you have doubles of a card, you must do double (deal out or take) the number of drinks.
