OSU Drops to #5; Will Still Beat USC Saturday

Somehow, even though Ohio State won, the Buckeyes slipped in the rankings to #5 this weekend. USC still managed to maintain their #1 ranking while not playing a game. It is clear the voters love the Trojans and hate OSU.

This Saturday the Scarlet and Gray travel to Troy to topple the #1 team in the country. While most in the country believe this to be a joke, I do not.

USC may have home field advantage, but the Buckeyes have the advantage in big game scenarios. USC's Quarterback Mark Sanchez has thrown for a total of 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns. Todd Boeckman has thrown for almost three times as much. USC uses a platoon of running backs who are mostly underclassmen. OSU will have Beanie Wells on the field who is an elite Heisman candidate. OSU players have played in the BCS National Championship the last two years and played in big games, like the #1-#2 OSU-Michigan game.

The bottom line is that Ohio State is better than USC and more experienced. Coming off an embarrassing showing against Ohio will only help OSU get prepared for USC and realize what they were doing wrong. USC is coming off a bye week and may be less prepared for that reason.

Look for Beanie Wells to take control of the game early and often. I can see him rushing for over 150 yards and two touchdowns. Todd Boeckman will not be very involved but should be crisp after a good start. Don't expect much from Terrelle Pryor either; this game is far too important for Tressel to play around with his Freshman QB. Expect OSU to win by a count of 35-13.

Kickoff is 8 PM ET, buy your kegs early.
