Saturday, Penn State did what you're supposed to do with a team ranked 117 out of 119 ... beat them unmercifully 59-0 (btw, we also play teams 118 and 119). The offense was in high gear with Anthony Morelli throwing for 231 yards in the first half alone. But from the look of the above picture, we need to work on our spelling skills.

In his press conference last week, JoePa said he had a new plan for entering Beaver stadium this season, saying "I'm going to drop from a parachute." Students tried to allude to that by attempting to spell out "parachute" in the stands, but obviously "R" was either too hungover for the game, or dictionaries need to be handed out first thing Monday morning.

When tomorrow's coaches poll comes out, you have to assume Penn State has a chance to step up from #17 to #15, with the losses from Tennessee (#15) and Michigan (#5). Ouch, that Michigan loss to Appalachian State was rough and plenty of people were overheard last night commenting on how it "makes the Big Ten look bad."

Well, look at it this way Michigan, at least the game was on the Big Ten Network. Maybe 100 people saw it. What's that? ESPN highlights? Oh, sorry.

Hopefully Penn State learned a lesson from that Michigan fiasco: Don't Schedule Division I-AA (Ooops, Division I Football Championship Subdivision ... sorry) teams. Oh, look at that. On next year's schedule we've got Coastal Carolina, uh-oh.
