Thievery with a Smile

Thievery with a Smile
There's an article on OSU's website titled "Trustees Consider Lowest Tuition Increase in 21 Years." The article goes on to boast that Ohio State’s Board of Trustees had actually listened to a motion to raise the tuition for the next year by the lowest amount in years! It’s like these guys (insert angry, childish name-calling name here) think they’re doing us some sort of service by thinking about not charging us as much for the upcoming year. I’m sure it’ll get labeled as a donation on their tax returns, you know, for “tax break” purposes.

When the board of the Ohio State Corporation decides to raise tuition by a small amount, it’s like Satan himself decided to give the eternally damned a day off and kick the thermostat down a few notches to 1,150 degrees Fahrenheit, instead of the usual 1,200.

Just for fun, check out your statement of account, and try logically explaining why the hell we get charged a couple hundred C-notes for a “general undergraduate fee” each quarter. Is this the University’s idea of a sick joke, since we’re not “graduate” students yet? Oh well, at least we’ve got the football (and now basketball) season to fall back on.
