Tufts University: Easily Offended Since 1989
And here I thought the Primary Source controversy was the first big free-speech brou-ha-ha at Tufts. Turns out we're no stranger to offensive language: an article detailing a recent Brandeis lecture on free speech had a pretty amusing anecdote:

Apparently in 1989, when I was but three (and --oh god -- the froshies were being born... dear lord, I'm old) a male Jumbo decided to sell T-shirts detailing "Fifteen Ways Beer Is Better Than Women At Tufts." He was slapped with probation and 50 hours community service after a woman complained. Unfortunately, the article didn't list his reasons. Then again, it's pretty easy to think of why beer is better than most everything at Tufts. Except maybe Jell-O shots. Beer probably isn't better than those.
