University Avoids Shooting Self In Foot

University Avoids Shooting Self In Foot
In all seriousness, is this what's going on in the world today?

The Michigan Daily reported today that the University of Michigan is endorsing an advertisement taken out in the August 8th issue of the New York Times showing solidarity with Israel. Apparently the United Kingdom's University and College Union has proposed a boycott of Israeli universities as a protest against Israeli policies in their relations with Palestine.

The advertisement, taken out by the president of Columbia University, told the UCU that if they wanted to boycott Israeli universities then they should “boycott ours too!”

For those that don't know, Umich is basically an Israeli colony here in the United States.  Mary Sue Coleman failing to endorse this stand by Columbia University would probably lead to an actual revolt from roughly 20% of the student population.

Reading the comments in the article it becomes clear that not everyone agrees with this stance. This raises hopes for some sort of protest led by that crazy Pro-Palestine guy with gray hair, wire-frame glasses and a sweater vest (he looks a bit like Jim Tressel and probably also drinks wine coolers like that tightass down in Columbus). That guy always wreaks havoc and generally offends in every way possible while simultaneously avoiding the police.  Here's hoping.
