Recently Phillip Mazzocco and company did a study in which white people were asked how much money they would have to receive to lose TV for life, and to become black for the rest of their life, now that they have the technology to do so. Polls reported that people would take $10,000 to become black and $1 million to lose TV. The researchers said that they think whites are ignorant as to the black person’s struggles.

Personally, I am not shocked at all. The underlying problem is maybe that people are too addicted to television, not ignorant of daily struggles of the black man. Or maybe, just maybe, the problem is that the CEO’s of the world are the racists (or ignorant, whatever you want to call it), not the everyday average Joe. They charge that blacks are hurt because of this ignorance, but I would say that most of the people that they surveyed don’t have any effect on the lives of most black people.

Most importantly, why is Phil comparing TV to being black? They don’t quite seem to have the same context. Another bullshit survey with bullshit answers leading to bullshit theories. Your tuition hard at work.
