Winter Renting Guide: Roomies?
The beginning of Winter quarter is one of the most important times of the year. It is easily looked over because of the time taken to readjust to college life after a long break. The first couple of weeks in January essentially decides how comfortably you will live next year. This is due to the timing of leases. Most landlords will ask their tenants to decide by mid to late January whether or not they will be keeping their place again. Planning early and wisely will help a student have a better year next year.

Roommates?

The biggest question facing you is, "Who will you live with?" More important than the location is the people there. It is very important to find people you are comfortable with and could spend 24 hours with on multiple occassions. If you want an Animal House, then certainly your drinking buddies will oblige. If you want a serene house, your studdy buddies might be best.

Or maybe you want to go a completely different route and live by yourself. It makes every decision yours. The major drawback here, however, is the higher cost of utilities like cable and internet.
