A construction crew recently began work on rebuilding and improving the entrance and walkway leading onto the Ohio Wesleyan University campus from Sandusky Street.

The new “Memorial Gateway” is a gift from the OWU Class of 1959. As part of the project, the brick walkway leading up to the front of Slocum Hall will be extended. OWU also has plans to add a handicap ramp from Sandusky Street to the campus walkway and widen the original steps. Work is projected to be completed by the time fall semester begins, and the Memorial Gateway will be rededicated during Alumni Weekend 2009, when members of the Class of 1959 return for their 50th reunion.
