A greener campus is coming soon to Ohio Wesleyan University. The theme for this year's Sagan National Colloquium, one of the campus traditions since the early 1980s, is "Cultivating a Green Campus,". Students get to engage world-renowned speakers and implement initiatives to make the 200-acre campus more environmentally friendly this semester.
As part of this initiative, October is also a vegetarian-friendly month on campus! Many enhancements have been added to the Hamilton Williams Campus Center towards that goal!
10 Reasons to Go Vegetarian ONE Day a Week include:
In one year you will....
- Save 84,000 gallons of WATER.
- Save 245 lbs of GRAIN- Curb world hunger.
- Save 7,700 sq feet of RAIN FORREST – Curb deforestation.
- Save a few of the over 10 billion ANIMALS slaughtered.
- Save 15.5 gallons of GASOLINE.

Other studies have shown that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables greatly reduce heart disease and diabetes. As you can see, making this small change in your diet can have a dramatic effect on a variety of social and environmental
issues we face today.
