"Sexiest Sportscaster 2008 ... or 2009, whenever"
For a second year, Playboy is conducting their "America's Sexiest Sportscaster" poll, and this year, Penn State graduate Lisa Salters is on the list. She's got no shot of winning though. She's up against some stiff competition in Erin Andrews (who will win), Shana Hiatt (who covers the National Heads Up Poker Tour, does that count as "sportscaster?") and Rachel Nichols (whose hair we can't figure out). But we are guaranteeing that a Penn State alum will win this coveted award ... whenever she graduates.
The picture above is Melanie. She's a journalism major here and a calendar girl for tempe12.com (apparently you can get the calendar at these fine locations in town). On the site she says her dream job is "Sideline Reporter and anchor for ESPN or another major sports network." So, the day after she graduates and walks into the offices of ESPN, she is officially the "Sexiest Sportscaster," we don't need a poll.
Melanie technically already is a sportscaster, as she co-hosted "Let's Talk Sports Nittany Lions Fans" (can they make that title longer) last semester. She's obviously very good, pronouncing Penn State wrestler James Yonushonis' name without hesitation.
So Playboy, just skip the poll next year. We've got the winner for ya already.
