Austin Scott out for Today's game. Alleged Rape at Nittany Apartments. Connection?
There are three separate stories floating around that, if connected are potentially horrific for the Penn State football team.

First, according to The Collegian, Penn State running back Austin Scott is out for today's game "because of an unspecified violation of team rules, the team announced this afternoon."

Second according to the Cumberland Sentinel, "[a] Penn State University police sergeant confirmed Friday night that University Police are looking into an incident involving a member of the Nittany Lions football team that took place around 4:15 a.m. Friday morning."

And lastly, again according to The Collegian, "[a] female student reported at 4 a.m. that she had been sexually assaulted earlier in the morning in the Nittany Apartment area by Pollock Road, Penn State Police said."

Nothing seems to be confirmed yet, but these stories certainly seem connected.

Update: Local station WJAC is reporting sources close to the team have confirmed that Scott's locker has been emptied.

Nothing has been made official but in the near future it will come out that he is the suspect in question. Posted 10/08/2007 12:21 PMReply

Just before the game, I was told by a member of Penn State football staff who wishes to remain anonymous that Austin Scott was indeed being charged with rape. There must be little doubt about his guilt as he was kicked off the team within hours of the report to the police. Posted 10/08/2007 9:24 PMReply
