Challenge X: Crossover to Sustainable Mobility
With summer approaching and gas prices nearing $4 in my part of the country, we are all looking for alternative methods of fuel to help keep our own personal costs down. Well here is a competition that aimed to do that. It is called Challenge X. 17 Teams across the country all looking to re-engineer a GM Equinox, which is an SUV. During the re-engineering process, teams are looking to minimize energy consumption, minimize emissions, while maintaining the vehicles performance.


Sponsored by GM, the competition has lasted the past three years with each year focusing on a different aspect of the car. The competition recently concluded with teams traveling from coast-to-coast in their new cars with the competition ending in D.C. Here are the final standings along with the teams participating
