WTF is going on around here? It usually feels like State College is so far off everyone's radar, with no one wanting to come here to speak. Jesus, Mike Gravel was a no show last semester and he's insane. But now, in the matter of about two weeks we have become the place to be for political and quasi-political speakers. Plus Jerome Bettis last night. Finally my overpriced tuition is paying off.
So the big news obviously is Bill Clinton speaking at Rec Hall tomorrow at 8pm with the "Solutions for America" 'tour.' So, if you plan on going I would say get to Rec Hall by like 6pm or something. I would imagine it's going to be packed. Or just check him out when he visits the Creamery afterwards.
Today we have PA Senator Bob Casey coming to visit campus and check out the honeybee research facility. Hopefully he can help figure out where all the honeybees are disappearing to. But, it doesn't look like Casey will actually be doing a speaking engagement.
Also tonight we have Jim Cramer taping "Mad Money" at Eisenhower for his "Back to School Tour." The latest news release from Penn State Live doesn't say anything about tickets, so I'm just going to go ahead and assume they're all gone at this point. But you can watch it on CNBC at 6 and 11pm.
I already told you about Ann Coulter speaking next Tuesday in the HUB, which I am equally excited about. As I said, the woman is batshit crazy, and you know something is going to happen that night. If it's just an arguement when she takes audience questions. God I can't wait.
And then, call all your Paultard friends because Ron Paul is coming to speak at 5:30pm April 11 at 100 Thomas. Seriously, someone needs to go all over the country and pick up all the Ron Paul for president signs on the roadways of America. In today's Collegian, Mike Policelli, vice president of the College Libertarians says four tons of campaign material for Ron Paul has been distributed. Ummm, do you guys know he can't win anything?
