Troubled Star Wide Receiver Charged for DWI

Wide receiver Maurice Humphrey was once the pride and star of Penn State’s Nittany Lions. He was one of Penn State’s top receivers with a triumphant record in 2003 placing him second on the team.

Apparently Mr. Humphrey has an alcohol and anger problem because he’s had several encounters with the police in five years. In May of 2004, he was sentenced to 90 days in prison after he allegedly beat up his girlfriend and her male friend in her apartment on November 23, 2003. He also violated his parole five months later and was sent back to prison for nine months.

On Monday June 23 2008, Humphrey was pulled over by State College Police at 2:20am after they noticed his vehicles’ tail lights were not functioning properly. The police arrested him that night after they found out his blood alcohol level was .176% (more than twice the limit in PA).
