UWire's Top 100 Student Journalists
By ha-mace (Chief Contributor) Tags: Top 100 Student Journalists, The Daily Collegian, UWire

Among the students named on UWire's list of 100 were four editors from Penn State's very own Daily Collegian. Ha-mace, an outspoken critic of the student-run news site, shares his thoughts.
I rip The Collegian on a regular basis. And when they begin printing again in a few weeks I will go back to ripping them again. But, I'll also give them credit when it's due, like when members are named some of the top student journalists in the country. This week UWire, which is a wire service focusing on college journalism, named their top 100 student journalists and only the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill had more students named on the list than the four from Penn State (University of Iowa also had four students on the list.) So, who are these fine young journos? Well I'm glad you asked.
- Halle Stockton who was the Managing Editor for The Collegian and who Collegian advisor John Harvey called, "a news junkie from her 10 little toes to the top of her white-blond head." Oh John Harvey.
- Adam Clair, Senior Arts Reporter. While I don't always agree with Clair's music reviews his story on what happened at the end of this year's Movin' On was fantastic. Yea I said fantastic.
- Kevin Horan, Assistant Night Sports Editor. While I don't really read the Sports section of The Collegian, it did seem like every article I read about the football team was written by Horan.
- Ryan Pfister, Web Editor. Pfister seems to be the man behind everything on The Collegian's Website, which includes the blogs. As a fellow blogger I have to say I think the Collegian blogs need work. A lot of work. A LOT!
