When the New York Times launches its etiquette column later this month, doubled Yale degree holder Philip Galanes will become the new Miss Manners.

The openly gay author, interior designer and former entertainment lawyer for fine arts seems to have mountains of etiquette experience. WWD reports his first novel, “Father's Day,” a satire where the gay hero is frequently chatting on “Pump Line,” a phone sex line, offers the following passage:

"When [the protagonist] makes haste to a downtown sex club, it's no surprise that he spends an inordinate amount of time folding his clothes into neat piles and comparing the claustrophobic buddy booths to the fitting rooms at Bergdorf Goodman."
