How to Better your Summer Internship/Job

How to Better your Summer Internship/Job

So you're in a job; you say you're doing it for yourself, but secretly it's just to fill out your skeletal resume.

Here's how to make it a little less painful.

1) Plan plan plan! Make you weekend full and fun and the treacherous week won't feel that bad after all...

2) Know your stuff. Doing research before you get to your job will not only make you appear much more able, but also will make you more comfortable in the situation. The internet is an obviously easy resource...

3) Be friend your co-workers. Not only will they be the ones to (probably) help evaluate you, but it will make the whole experience much fluffier. Tip: Bring in homemade cookies. ALWAYS brings smiles.

4) Be mature and responsible. You will gain so much more respect.

5) Stay organized. This will help you and those around you. Tip: Make big old sharpie labelled folders and always have post-its around.

6) Blog blog blog! Look like you're typing up notes for your boss, but really you are blogging away (for collegeotr.com of course...)

Good luck and remember to keep an open mind- learning doesn't only happen at college.
