The Eastern Michigan trial has begun after 10 long months that included an attempted cover-up which led to the firing of the university president. Now, an EMU student is being tried for murder in the dorms, just a few miles down Washtenaw Ave. The trial has brought loads of news vans outside the Ann Arbor court house on East Huron. The murder victim was allegedly dragged out of her bed, either strangled or suffocated, and left on the floor half-naked with semen on her leg. There is also video evidence of the suspect entering the dorms at 4:30 and leaving at 6:00 a.m. This was an absolutely awful occurrence and this blog comes with all due respect and sensitivity, but the defense statement made by the suspect’s lawyer was beyond ridiculous.

The defense attorney claimed that the suspect had been smoking marijuana that evening and was looking for more inside the dorm, when he came across the victim— half-naked and dead (unbeknownst to the suspect)— and ejaculated on her. Naturally any man’s first instinct when he sees some girl motionless on the floor is to do such an act. The attorney also pointed out that the girl had suffered an irregular heartbeat in 2005, and had told her friends that she was tired and run-down the week she died. 

The trial continues today, who knows what kind of crap this guy will spew out next. If he doesn’t put in a guilty plea soon his client is going away for a long, long time. I know he’s just doing his job, but defense attorneys suck ass.
