"Noose Incidents" Taking Over Our Fair Campuses

"Noose Incidents" Taking Over Our Fair Campuses
Teacher's College suddenly realizes just how close to Harlem it is.

Columbia, meet Jena.

Jena, meet Columbia.

Yesterday an African-American professor at Columbia's Teacher's College found a noose tacked to her office door.

Columbia students, still fresh off the Ahmadinjijihd (at a certain point you just give up trying to spell it correctly) scandal, are already planning a number of protests and actions.

The school's student newspaper, the Spectator, has chipped in by creating an online "Timeline of Bias at Columbia." Tellingly, it starts in 2004.

So our boys and girls in uniform don't feel left out, it's worth mentioning that the Coast Guard Academy finally got around last Thursday to addressing their own noose incidents, one of which took place during mandatory race-relations training.

We'll save the UMD and Gallaudet cases for later.
