College students in general just don't care about politics. Sure there are a few, people who join the College Dems or College Republicans, but overall it's "boring," "stupid" or "boring." As we overheard one girl say last year: "If I can't drink until I'm 21, then I'm not voting!" Well, enter Mike Gravel, crazy presidential candidate from Alaska - surprisingly he agrees with you, and will be speaking at the HUB today at 2:30.

Perhaps in an effort to get a little more interest in politics, College Democrats are bringing Gravel to campus today to talk about Iraq, lowering the drinking age and adult diapers. Fliers around campus promoting the event were obviously trying to get the students involved with this quote from Gravel: "Anybody that can fight and die for this country should be able to drink!"

Hey, we're not the only ones calling Gravel crazy, in today's Collegian, College Dems president Enrique Ortiz said about Gravel, "He's a crazy old grandpa sometimes." Wow, when you and Mike Gravel meet and are shaking hands, that won't be awkward, huh Enrique? We're thinking Ortiz is going to wish he hadn't said that in a couple hours.

But, just think, if you go to this speech, one day you can tell your kids that you saw a guy speak at your college a year before he was elected president. HAHA, no. No, you won't! He's got no chance. Oh, that's funny.
