OSU Basketball Has New Life

OSU Basketball Has New Life
Fueled by Jamar Butler's 2nd half and Overtime flurry and Evan Turner's determination, the Buckeyes defeated #15 Purdue 80-77. The win was the first in 5 games for OSU and provided a glimmer of hope for Columbus faithfuls. The Buckeyes now sit at 18-12 and 9-8 in Big Ten play.

The huge win gives OSU a resume boost for the tournament selection committee. The Buckeyes had been lacking any real quality wins other than Syracuse (neutral) and Florida (at home), which are both bubble teams also. The win should also inflate OSU's RPI, which is a good indicator of whether or not the tournament selection committee will call your name.

The Buckeyes have one remaining regular season game. They play Michigan State on Sunday at 12 in Columbus. Matta needs his troops to win and then do well in the Big Ten tournament to secure a NCAA bid.
