Our Interview With The Penn State Female Streaker
By ha-mace (Chief Contributor) Tags: Mifflin Streak, Elizabeth Burke, naked

Do a Google News search of Elizabeth Burke's name and you'll see dozens of stories from around the country that document her fight against the open lewdness charge she received after participating in May's Mifflin Streak. Well, let's add one more to the list since I was able to score one of the final interviews with Burke who says she's eager to end her 15 minutes of fame. Burke, who is a 20-year-old junior, gave me some interesting info including what most guys have probably been wondering ... is she single?
Last week Burke decided to not take a plea bargain or to accept Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition like the other seven streakers. Instead she says she did not violate the law because she didn't "affront or alarm" anyone. Since then the story has gained national attention with stories running in local newspapers, Philadelphia television and national news agencies. Oh and then there's the blogs. But Burke says she isn't enjoying the notoriety. In fact, it might have affected her job search yesterday.
"I went to apply for a job yesterday and I was actually recognized by the manager," said Burke. "My hopes aren’t too high getting a call back from them."
Burke also says she wasn't the only female participating in the streak that night. She says she remembers some girls wearing underwear but can't remember seeing any naked girls, saying "it’s tough to see anyone, even when you’re looking for them." Look, I would have seen them. I would have been looking and I would have seen them. But that's just me. I'm hoping it was something like this.
So how does one decide to get involved in the Mifflin Streak? Well Burke says it's not something she really planned out, and she kind of got caught up in the heat of the moment. Plus it was the week before finals, that's as good an excuse as any to get naked.
"This seemed like the perfect opportunity to take a break from studying and have a little fun. I originally intended to just go and watch, but I got there and figured, 'Ah, what the heck,'" said Burke. "Next thing I know I’m in the middle of a human tunnel wearing a fuzzy hat and hockey mask, clutching my sweats and running for my life." A naked girl with a hockey mask and a fuzzy hat? I guarantee there's got to be someone with a fetish for that.
Burke also says that knowing what she knows now, she wouldn't go through with the streak again.
"I take responsibility for my actions, and even though I didn’t think they were going to arrest anyone, ignorance should never preclude a person from the consequences. We’re not arguing that streaking is okay, because in most cases it’s not," she said. "The law in this case just does not apply to the situation. Had I known the fiasco this would cause, no, I wouldn’t do it again."
Whatever, on to the important information. Elizabeth is obviously a cute girl and clearly open to doing some crazy things from time to time, so do Penn State guys have a chance, or is she already taken? Here's her answer:
"Single, yes. Passively looking, I suppose, but I’m very content at the moment. I worked with a guy this past semester that I was absolutely head-over-heels for, but he shot me down. Unfortunately, I’ve gotten a fair share of alarming messages on Facebook, so I’ve practically gutted my profile and made myself unsearchable. I value my privacy, which I suppose is a bit counterintuitive in this case, but it’s true. Also, the guys who just want to meet me because they think I’m some kind of perpetually nude wild-child will be sorely disappointed."
Wait, some dude shot her down? What a douche! And as for the Facebook messages, here's a piece of advice guys (and I can't believe I have to say this again) - STOP BEING CREEPY!
Oh, and if you are looking at possibly wooing Elizabeth, know this - she had a bit of a strange request. "Tell any other gentlemen inquirers that if they want a date with me, they have to beat me in a one-on-one Halo slayer match," she said. Good luck guys, I'm out of the running!
