When I think of March Madness I prefer to think of tall, sexy, sweating basketball stars. Unfortunately, yesterday’s press lease from The Princeton Review suggests we should be sweating over much different subjects this month.
“It’s nail-biting season now through April as college acceptance/rejection and financial aid letters land in family mailboxes,” the release proclaims.
Oh joy!
More than 3.3 million students will graduate from high school this spring and guess what? Everyone wants to attend the same close-to-impossible to get into schools.
After surveying 10,388 parents and students, the NY-based “education service company” reported the following:

4) New York Univ. (previously #1 for 3 consecutive years)
5) Yale
6) Brown
7) Columbia
8) Cornell
9) Univ. of Southern California
10) UCLA

Princeton, Stanford and Harvard? I’ve got two words for ya’ll:
OVER RATED.
Take a look around OTR. Is anything even remotely crazy-sexy-cool happening at these schools?
Despite my best efforts to find people to tell me otherwise….
Nope!
You might not believe me (especially after all the bullshit your parents and teachers have fed you about the Ivies), but college is about so much more than just an education.
Do you really want to wake up in four years with an encyclopedia shoved up your ass?
Gander over to UMich, Tufts, Northwestern and PennState.
You’ll find some people who can show you what college is really all about.
