Penn State vs. Indiana Preview

Penn State vs. Indiana Preview

This week, the No. 8 Nittany Lions return home to take on the Indiana Hoosiers.

This is the all important rebound game from, you know, what happened last week. This year has pretty dismal at Indiana and this season is a far cry from their relatively successful 2007 campaign, when they almost took down the Lions.

The offense is led by quarterback Kellen Lewis, who is no stranger to running the ball, as well as, throwing it. Last season, Lewis ran the ball for 736 yards. The secondary will have to be aware, as well as the guys up front; hopefully the Lion secondary will be awake when they take the field this week.

The threat on the Hoosiers defense is end Greg Middleton, who is an aggressive pass rusher and led the country in sacks last year. The secondary doesn't pose as much of a threat to Clark and company with the departure of two leading cornerbacks. The unit is led by safety Austin Thomas. All in all, nothing Royster or Clark can't handle.

This game will (hopefully) be a way for the Lions to bounce back from last week's loss and prepare for Michigan State next week. This is a chance for Penn State to win big and gain style points and to prove to the pollsters that last week was a fluke. The Lions should have no trouble scoring and the defense should use this as forum to practice their coverage. If the Hoosiers score more than 16, then we got problems.

THE GOOD NEWS: A clean slate

THE BAD NEWS: The secondary might have trouble with Lewis

KICKOFF: 12:00 p.m.

TV: Big Ten Network

BOTTOM LINE: Hoosiers will be losers
